Lion King Music Notes

Hello, campers!
We hope you're all having a great summer. Camp starts in 3.5 weeks! Are you excited? We are! As you practice your music, we wanted to tell you a few things.

Performance Tracks
Along with the practice tracks, you may now access the performance (aka karaoke) tracks of our songs here:

➤ Lion King Performance Tracks 

We encourage you to start singing along to the performance tracks -- that's what we'll be using at camp! It can be a little tricky to find your spot, so if you get lost, no worries! Sarah and Becky will keep you on track once camp starts.

Song Changes
We made a couple changes to the performance tracks. We are going to repeat the chorus of "He Lives in You", so that track is now longer.

We are going to end "Hakuna Matata Part 2" with some audience participation. They're going to join us while we chant "Hakuna! Matata!" a bunch of times. The track will fade out while we chant. When we're done chanting, the end of the song will play us out. We will NOT be singing the very last line of the song that splits "Hakuna... Mata... ta" into weirdness. Because... it's weird.

What Part You Sing
We've talked to a few campers about the music, and we've noticed some confusion about who sings what part when. So we created some lyrics sheets that tell you exactly what to sing for each song. Select the appropriate links below to access your parts.

Lion King Practice Tracks

Hi, gang! 

Over the summer, please familiarize yourself with the music for our show. Our hope is that you are able to show up to the first morning of camp with all your songs and lines memorized so that we can jump right into blocking. So hop to it! 

As with any theatre production, it is important for everyone to learn all of the music, even if you don't think you will be singing some of it in the show. Partly because you will have cues to watch for in each song, partly because the music of Lion King plays a major role in helping to tell the story, and partly because you never know -- maybe you'll be asked to sing a line or two you weren't expecting! Be prepaaaaaaaaaaared. ;)

Lion King Cast List

Thanks to everyone who auditioned, we are going to have a great show! Please note this show has a very active and engaged chorus. They’re on stage for most of the show, and most of the other cast members will be on stage for the large chorus numbers as well. We’re right around 30 people on stage and a crew of 5-7 which is great. But there’s always room for more! If you know someone who would like to be in the camp, just have them contact me! Lion King Auditions

Welcome! If you just auditioned for Lion King, thank you! Everyone who auditioned will get a part, but your audition will help us determine which role you are offered. That way, you will have a head start on your lines and songs, which will be super helpful for this week-long camp.

The cast list will be posted on this blog by Friday, June 8 at 4pm. 

Please come to Starbucks in Lake Stevens on Sunday, June 10, between 2-4pm to accept your part and pick up your script. (If you can't make it during this timeframe, please let Pastor Bill know.)
